Parents Reaching Out Grant Announcement

date 18 September 2014

The Niagara Children’s Planning Council – Research Group (NCPC-RG) is pleased to announce their successful application to the Parents Reaching Out (PRO) grant through the Ministry of Education.

Parents play a vital role in their child’s school lives, and since 2006 the Ministry of Education has provided PRO grants to support finding local solutions to help more parents get involved and support their child’s student achievement and overall well-being.

The funding will allow NCPC-RG to complete phase II of the Parent Knowledge Study, with a focus on parent knowledge of growth and development of children aged 7-12 years. The second phase will also explore parent perception about the effects of their involvement in their child’s learning and school environment.

The research project is a collaboration between NCPC-RG and the Faculty of Education at Brock University.
